Hans Wegner is a Swedish designer born in 1914 and died in 2017. Thanks to his father, who was a master shoemaker, Wegner was quickly drawn to manual trades; This is how he began training to become a cabinetmaker at the age of 14, alongside Stahlberg, a great German craftsman.
Wegner is particularly known for his creation "The Chair", which became historic furniture in the United States thanks to President John Kennedy who, suffering from a back problem, chose it in 1960 for the televised debate against Richard Nixon. In the words of the American magazine Interiors, this chair, published on the cover, was "the most beautiful chair in the world".
This discovery was not only that of a designer, but also the discovery of Danish design.
