David Shrigley is a British artist known for his simplistic and even childish illustrations. His drawings are loaded with humorous sentences with striking lucidity about our world. After graduating from the Glasgow School of Art in 1991, David Shrigley embarked on a number of projects. He creates animation of music videos like Good song by Blur in particular and illustrated the cover of the London Underground brochure. Since 2005, his weekly cartoon has appeared in The Guardian Weekend Magazine. Its success exploded in 2016 with the Really Good Sculpture, the huge thumbs up sculpture on display in Trafalgar Square. Recently, David Shrigley was awarded the status of Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his contributions to contemporary art.
